OTHER WAYS TO LEARN ABOUT PRUNING

Merritt College is a landscape horticulture school in Oakland that offers the only aesthetic pruning program in America, in addition to landscaping, rock setting, and horticulture classes.

Merritt College Pruning Club allows volunteers to learn hands-on pruning in nonprofit gardens of the San Francisco Bay Area—all levels of pruners are welcome, including beginners.

Portland Japanese Garden ’s Cultural Crossing Expansion is the first Japanese garden school in the country.

Aesthetic Pruners Association offers lectures, workshops and pruning related events to members and the public about aesthetic pruning and more.

North American Japanese Garden Association offers events and conferences throughout the year.

Sukiya Living Journal teaches all aspects of Japanese garden design, maintenance and architecture.
