This is a private event for the Kusamura Bonsai Club of Palo Alto and friends. This slideshow will focus on the role of bonsai and bonsai artists in the memoir Cutting Back-My Apprenticeship in the Gardens of Kyoto. Included will be bonsai heroes/masters; Mas Imazumi, Dennis Makishima, Golden State Bonsai Garden, some of Imazumi’s private landscape accounts, and of course plenty of photos from the Japanese gardens of Kyoto featured in NYTimes reviewed, Cutting Back where I tell the story of my travels from California to Kyoto, eventually working in one of the most historic landscaping companies of Kyoto.
